Local Harvest: This site contains information by state in the US for finding organic farmers, Farmers Markets, Community Supported Agriculture (CSA), and much more. Their motto is "real Food, real farmers, real community".

Promoting Sustainable Agriculture: This link on the Dr. Mercola web site contains dozens of links to organizations which support organic and sustainable agriculture.

Genetically Modified Organism (GMO):

The Institute for Responsible Technology

This search of "GMO" on the Dr. Mercola web site provides many articles and videos concerning GMOs.

The Non-GMO Shopping Guide
provides information about what GMOs are, why you should care, and how to avoid these toxins in your diet. There is also a handy free shopping guide that you can download.

Becoming More Informed and Involved:

The Meatrix is a short educational video about factory farming and what you can do about it.

The Health Freedom Alliance: This site contains an extensive articles library on such topics as drinking water, GMOs, Health Legislation, safe food, etc. You can subscribe to their newsletter which has many health related articles, as well as partitions you can sign and letters to legislatures you can send to causes you support.

The Sustainable Food site contains petitions you can sign to support our food, animal rights, women's rights, environment, etc.

Biogems is a leg of the National Resources Defense Council (NRDC) non-profit. Biogem's mission is to preserve our natural resources: our parks and wildlife. You can subscribe to their email list and they will notify you when there is detrimental legislation being proposed. They write opposition letters for you that you can use as is, modify, or write your own. They make sending letters to our legislation extremely easy for causes you support.

The Avaaz non-profit is a global web movement to bring people-powered politics to decision-making everywhere. You can subscribe to them and then sign partitions about causes you support. Their tag line is "The World in Action".
